Mother’s Day 2027 is Sunday, May 9. Ashburn’s options are a resort brunch in Lansdowne, a county 5K and a free self-guided woodland walk, and two big farmers markets for flowers and gifts on the same weekend. The 2027 events are not out yet; below are the 2026 versions with the year marked, plus the markets, which run every week.

Brunch

Lansdowne Resort, 44050 Woodridge Parkway, Lansdowne. The resort’s Mother’s Day Brunch ran 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Mother’s Day 2026, by reservation: a fruit and yogurt bar, fresh pastries, an omelet station and more, and the resort suggested a mimosa for mom. The resort lists Mother’s Day brunch on its seasonal events page each year; the 2027 details will be posted there.

Events: what ran in 2026

From the county’s Spring 2026 Activity Guide:

  • Mom’s Day 5K, Philip A. Bolen Memorial Park, Leesburg, 9 to 11 a.m. Sunday, May 10, 2026. A timed race in the county’s Run Your PRCS Parks series; registered runners got a race shirt and medal, and walkers and strollers were welcome. Registration was through Bishop’s Events.
  • Mother’s Day Walk, Banshee Reeks Nature Preserve, Leesburg, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday to Sunday, May 8-10, 2026. A free self-guided woodland trail with activities; pick up a booklet at the Visitor Center and return it for a family keepsake. No registration.
  • Mother’s Day teas ran at several county community and senior centers the same weekend; each is listed under its center in the guide.

The Spring 2027 Activity Guide, with the 2027 dates, goes online by 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 15, 2027.

Gift markets

  • Ashbrook Market, Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., year-round. EatLoco’s flagship market on Atwater Drive, near One Loudoun, averages more than 110 vendors. It is open Saturday, May 8, the day before Mother’s Day.
  • Brambleton Market, Sundays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., year-round, at Brambleton Town Center, with more than 50 vendors on average. It is open on Mother’s Day itself.
  • Cascades Farmers Market, Sundays, 9 a.m. to noon, May to October, at 21060 Whitfield Drive, Sterling, run by the Loudoun Valley Homegrown Markets Cooperative.
